Ford Simey LLP is based in Exeter and is one of the oldest established firms of solicitors, boasting a tradition of over 250 years of legal excellence.

The Ford Simey of today is a result of the fusion of several prominent Exeter Law Firms; business partnerships and marriages that have helped develop Ford Simey into a single, strong, authoritative and flourishing business serving the whole of the West Country.

In order to support its business activities, Ford Simey has a number of ICT based business systems.   The Practice engaged Nexus Open Systems to consult on how to manage improvements to these systems. Subsequently Nexus implemented new technologies and upgrades to many of their business systems including Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Active Directory and inter-site connectivity.  The project was coordinated and phased around a number of office moves and with careful planning allowed the changes to be implemented with minimal disruption to the business. 

Remote and mobile connectivity was identified as an improvement that could bring increased productivity to employees through flexible working. Therefore Nexus configured a Microsoft Exchange Server topology including a front-end server and back-end servers at key offices.  Microsoft Outlook Web Access, Outlook Mobile Access and Active-Sync were securely configured to provide external access to email and other important resources.

Nexus continue to support Ford Simey LLP on the best utilisation of information technology within the Practice.
