Overview
Nexus worked closely with Teignbridge District Council on three related projects to strengthen and consolidate the organisations core ICT infrastructure.
Solution
Nexus Open Systems has enjoyed a close working relationship with Teignbridge District Council (TDC) for several years. Nexus has supplied the Council with many innovative IT solutions to support the organisation and the services that it provides to residents in the Teignbridge area.
Highlights from recent IT projects include:
- Design of new Local Area Network (LAN) to improve resilience and bandwidth
- Implementation of a 3Com core layer 3 switch network with 720 ports at the edge, with Power over Ethernet (PoE) capabilities
- Wireless network connectivity and campus-wide wireless site survey
- Installation of Nortel Wireless Security Switch and access points serving the committee rooms and differing levels of controlled access set for councillors, TDC staff and guest access
- Active Directory migration and design
- Project plan creation and skills transfer to TDC staff
- Consultancy at agreed milestone's throughout the project.
