Overview
When PenCarrie upgraded to Microsoft Office 2010 they turned to Nexus to deliver a bespoke, on-site training programme for their personnel to help the business adopt the new functionality in the software.
Solution
PenCarrie are one of the leading distributors of clothing to the promotional and leisurewear sector, supplying customers throughout the UK, Ireland and overseas. PenCarrie are based in Exeter with an impressive portfolio of over 60 brands.
PenCarrie were looking to help administration and warehouse personnel to adopt the new features and functionality of the Microsoft Office 2010 software suite. Nexus were asked to quantify the businesses training needs and tailor an on-site training programme that delivered customised courses to meet individuals’ specific requirements. The training programme was developed through prior consultation between senior management at PenCarrie, a Microsoft Certified Trainer from Nexus and the Nexus Training Centre Manager.
Pre-training assessments were completed and Nexus combined an introductory and intermediate course to provide training for the most widely used functionality. In addition some IT training was tailored to assist candidates gain a higher competency with individual Microsoft Office 2010 products.
Training courses took place at the PenCarrie Swindon branch, reducing the disruption and cost to the business. Once training had commenced, Nexus closely monitored the aptitude of the delegates and the delegates’ course evaluation sheets to modify the content and pace of each course where necessary. The whole training programme was completed over a two week period.
The feedback received from PenCarrie personnel was very positive and this was further supported by the candidates’ course evaluations. Nexus were subsequently invited by PenCarrie to deliver further IT training courses to key personnel during 2011.
