Key Organics Ltd is an independent chemistry services and contract research organisation, based in Cornwall. Key Organics has over 25 years’ experience of meeting global chemistry needs for the pharmaceutical, agrochemical and biotechnology sectors together with related industries and applications.
With reliance on IT becoming more critical and increased complexity from client demands, the organisation required a new robust IT infrastructure that they could build on to help drive competitive advantage.
The two areas of the IT systems that Key Organics had identified for improvement included the local area network and server/storage platform. Nexus were engaged to provide advice, supply the best solution and help manage the upgrade process. The project included the following key elements:
- Create an equipment and installation proposal to implement the solution
- Supply Dell EqualLogic SAN and Avaya network switch hardware
- Supply of Microsoft and VMware server licensing
- VMware vSphere deployment and configuration
- Network topology design, implementation and optimisation
- Threat Management Gateway 2010 deployment
- Migration to Exchange 2010
- Project and handover documentation
