Overview
Hunter Stoves wanted to replace their existing IT infrastructure with a modern and resilient computing system in readiness for Sage 200 Manufacturing edition.
Solution
Hunter is one of the UK’s leading stove and central heating manufacturers. Based in Mid Devon, the company employs a team of engineers, designers, fitters and welders who have created award-winning stoves on a sooty assembly-line since 1996.
Nexus engineers worked closely with Hunter Stoves to identify areas of their IT infrastructure that needed to be improved or replaced in preparation for the installation of Sage 200 Manufacturing.
Highlights of the project:
- Consultancy and analysis to determine requirements and create a solution
- Project planning and management
- Cabling, hardware and software supply and configuration
- Migration from Microsoft SBS 2003 to SBS 2008
- Installation and configuration of two additional servers using Hyper-V
- Migration of all Line of Business (LOB) applications
- Installation and configuration of two new HP switches to link offices using LACP trunking
- Installation of additional network cabling points to expand the existing structured cabling infrastructure.
The new network cabling infrastructure, software and hardware upgrades from Nexus have provided Hunter Stoves with a powerful and stable platform to deploy Sage 200. The new computer network is easier to manage, is more resilient and has increased productivity throughout the business.
