Overview
Gooch & Housego identified that they needed to upgrade their ICT infrastructure and wished to work with a company who could advise on the best course of action and also implement the solution.
Solution
Gooch & Housego is an AIM listed company based in the market town of Ilminster, Somerset. The company specialises in the design, manufacture and assembly of acousto-optical components and precision optics.
Nexus were selected to work in partnership with Gooch and Housego to refresh its ICT infrastructure. The project included the following activities:
- Pre-migration proof of concept and testing
- Active Directory design and implementation
- Implementation of HP rack mounted servers
- Upgrade from Microsoft Windows NT4 to Windows Server 2003
- Upgrade from Microsoft Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003
- Email and data migration
- Rollout of 50 new desktop PCs with end user training
- Fully documented project plan and system handover with guidelines for housekeeping.
- Ongoing support services through Nexus Telephone Helpdesk and Retained Technical Services (RTS)
